Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow time for parking and getting into the studio. If you arrive late your session will last only to the end of your time block. Have everyone ready when you arrive.
Styling
For a classic look- avoid graphics, logos, words, and neon clothing. Solid colors or simple prints are best, and choose a color that you love with your/their hair and skin-tone.
For a fun or modern look- choose pajamas or cutesy holiday wear. Accessories are great and add to the fun!
Style hair however you like. Feel free to be creative but simplicity is lovely as well.
Important: Check your child’s face for “crusties” :) Every kiddo (especially our younger ones) tends to have something around their eyes, nose, or mouth. A quick wash in the sink or with a baby wipe will do the trick.
Bonus tip: If you’d like to print holiday cards or display the photos in your home, keep in mind accent colors that you may want to compliment. Consider the colors and style in the space where the photos will live and base your styling around that. This is completely optional of course!
Session
Let your kiddos know that we are excited to see them! A few days before your session, begin talking about your session to get them excited! Show them the photos on this page so they know what to expect.
It’s perfectly natural to feel nervous or uncomfortable in front of the camera. We’ll all be chatting, making jokes, and I’ll encourage the occasional deep breath or head/body shake to relax everyone if needed. Please don't stress over the behavior of your children. I'm a mom of three and have been photographing families for years so there's not a behavior that I haven't seen expressed.
If you have a shy little one don’t stress about them not cooperating. We will respect your child’s space and we have lots of techniques to capture great photos. If your child becomes upset, we will pause photos so you may comfort them.
Be sure the kids are well rested and have a full tummy. With younger kids it's nice to have a treat on hand (we're not above bribing) and with older kids a treat after the session is a great way to encourage cooperation.
After the session
A preview gallery of hand-edited digital images will be emailed to you within 10 days of your session. From this online gallery you will pay your balance and download the digital images. You’ll also have the option of purchasing prints, canvases, and more from your preview gallery.
I sell high resolution digital images because it’s important to me that you have the archival quality images to keep forever, and print from whenever you’d like. Digital photos will be emailed to you for download with print release. Prints and products will be shipped directly to you. Preview galleries will be open for seven days with a fee of $25 to re-open. Sales tax will be added to all prices at checkout.
Terms as agreed to upon purchase:
No more than six people total per session, snd no more than four children per session. For more than four children, email vanessabrackphoto@gmail.com to book with $25 for each additional child.
To maintain the magical feeling, no more than two adults are allowed to accompany children into the studio. Other adults or children not being photographed will be asked to wait outside as it causes distraction.
No video or pictures will be allowed. Enjoy the moment, friends! We got you covered with fantastic photos.
Your preview gallery with all fully edited photos will be emailed within ten days. From there you'll pay your balance and download your digital photos. You'll have the option to purchase printed products.
The photos in your gallery are fully edited and chosen at the photographer’s discretion. “Photoshopping” or any digital manipulation of the images will not be done. We think you're beautiful just as you are!
Our backdrop/set changes slightly every year and may not look exactly like the photos featured.
Fee is non-refundable but is transferrable. In the event of photographer illness or emergency, event will be rescheduled. If you're unable to attend on the rescheduled date, fee will not be refunded. Instead, 100% of profits will be donated to Arizona Children's Association and you'll receive a 20% discount for the next Holiday Petite Event.
We don't photograph crying kiddos. If a child is upset, we'll take a short break while you comfort them. Your time block will not be extended.
There are no guarantees to the poses or shots we capture. Reshoots or refunds will not be given for child/children temperament, facial expressions, client wardrobe, hair, makeup and appearance.
Due to the timing of the sessions, session blocks are firm. IF YOU ARRIVE LATE YOUR SESSION WILL ONLY LAST UNTIL THE END OF YOUR BLOCK.
